TOWN MAP



The Town of Fayette is in the center of the Central Finger Lakes. It stretches between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes, and is bordered at the north by the Seneca-Cayuga Canal.

The Town of Fayette is on the western border of the county and is southeast of Geneva, New York. Seneca was part of the Central New York Military Tract and was first settled around 1790. The town was established from part of the Town of Romulus in 1800 as the "Town of Washington" but adopted the current name in 1803.

The Town of Fayette Town Board on Thursday, November 13 at 7PM @ the Town Office 1439 Yellow Tavern Rd, Waterloo will have their monthly meeting. For the agenda go to the Town Board page.

Fayette Town Assesor James Cleere and the  Fayette Town Board will be holding a informational meeting regarding the proposed water district s 6 and 7 on November 12, 2014 at the Town Office  1439 Yellow Tavern Road, Waterloo, NY. 6PM to 7PM regarding Water District 6 and 7PM to 8PM regarding Water District 7.

TOWN OF FAYETTE

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Fayette Town Board on November 13, 2014 at 6:45 p.m. at the Fayette Town Hall, 1439 Yellow Tavern Road in said Town regarding the proposed Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Town of Fayette adopt a budget for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 2015 that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the “tax levy limit” as defined by General Municipal Law, Section 3-C will be reviewed by the Fayette Town Board incident to and as a part of said public hearing.

Any resident of the Town of Fayette  shall be entitled to be heard upon said proposed “tax cap”  at such public hearing. Copies of the proposed Local Law are available for review at the Town Clerk’s Office.

Disabled citizens who require assistance in attending said public hearing, or in furnishing comments and suggestions, should contact the undersigned to request such assistance.

Approximately 10 – 12 hours per month.

Town of Fayette resident preferred.

Duties include: monthly meetings,minutes, public notices, correspondence to property owners and to Seneca County PlanningBoard as required.

Stipend $1,200/yr.
